Web Apps
The online component of TFC consists of several web applications designed to promote discussion and collaboration. Members can log in to each service using the same username and password.
Element
The element app is a front-end communications platform that uses the Matrix protocol. Essentially, element is the web interface you use to message people, and Matrix is the server that makes it work. Click the above link to install the app on your device.
We run a self-hosted element app which members can use to collaborate. Members can click the above link and log in with their user credentials to start communicating from their desktop browser.
Drupal
This website is built on Drupal, an open source content management system for websites. Members can log in to this website with their credentials to write blog posts about anything from their homesteading efforts to what God is teaching them in their life. This is your place to share your journey with the public, outside of the confines of corrupt Social Media sites.
NextCloud
NextCloud is a locally hosted cloud storage service. We host a NextCloud instance which members can use for storing and sharing files, as well as collaborating on projects. Members can log in to the above link with their credentials, and upload or create documents.
OnlyOffice
OnlyOffice is a locally hosted document server. It is similar in function to Google Docs, and allows for collaborative creation of documents, presentations, and spreadsheets. TFC runs a locally hosted OnlyOffice server that is accessible from within NextCloud.
Wiki
Wiki.js is a locally hosted wiki software based on node.js. We host a wiki which members can use as a repository of knowledge, a testament to our commitment to collect and share the wisdom of the past and the present. Members can log in to the above link with their credentials, and create or edit pages.
Backend Components
TFC self-hosts all its services, and runs the back-end components to make them work. The following services are used.
Matrix
[Matrix] is an open-source messaging protocol that provides secure end-to-end encrypted communication. We run a self-hosted Matrix server for group collaboration.
Univention
The Univention Corporate Server (UCS) is a web tool designed for managing IT infrastructure in the workplace. We use UCS for account management, as well as various web apps for members. Members can click the above link and log in with their credentials to change passwords, as well as access various TFC services.
