The Throne Room

As a way of celebrating Christmas this year, I have been pondering a question, and sought input from my friends. I sent this question to many people in my acquaintance, and collected many answers and discussions.

I've been thinking a lot about what I, personally, mean when I talk about Salvation. There are a lot of terms and ideas thrown around when people talk about the Afterlife. Its easy to get lost in the weeds.

I have described, below, a picture that attempts to boil down this critical question to its essentials. This "supposal" ends with a question. I've been thinking a lot about my answer, and I'd like to know yours. This thought experiment is a way for me to celebrate this Holy day, as well as to learn what answer and reasoning others would give.

This is the picture:
Imagine, as a hypothetical, that entry into heaven is decided by a single question.

When you die, you appear before the judgement seat of Jesus Christ. An Archangel calls the court to order, and the Lord enters and sits on the throne. This happens outside the bounds of time, and so all the people you knew are in the audience; people who love you and people who hate you.

The Prosecution is the Devil's Advocate. He begins to read off a list of your sins and failures. The list is long, and complete.
You listen as the entirety of your life is bared before all.

When the reading is complete, the Judge looks at you, and asks "Why should I let you into my Kingdom?"

What do you say, and why?
